« Qui est là? » demande une voix de l’intérieur.
« C’est moi », dit l’homme.
« Va-t-en alors », répond la voix. « Il n’y a pas de place ici pour “moi” ».
L’homme s’en va et se promène dans le désert jusqu’à ce qu’il se rende compte de son erreur. Il revient et frappe encore à la porte.
« Qui est là? » demande la voix,
« Toi », répond l’homme.
« Alors viens », répond la voix.

“Who’s there?” asks a voice from within.
“It’s ME,” says the man.
“Go away then,” answers the voice. “There’s no room here for ‘me.’”
The man goes away and wanders in the desert until he realizes his error. He returns and knocks again at the door.
“Who’s there?” asks the voice,
“Thou,” answers the man.
“Then come in,” the voice replies.
